About Laura Madrigano

Laura Madrigano is the founder and creative director of Laura Madrigano Creative Enterprises. Established in 1998, the company designs, creates and produces a collection Handbags, Evening bags,One-of-a-kind accessories, and Clothing. Through the years, the collection has been sold in over 500 specialty stores worldwide, as well as featured in Bloomingdales, Saks, & Neiman Marcus Catalogs. Magazines such as People, In Style, LUCKY, O Magazine, Country Home, have featured the collection as well as NBC's The Today Show. Laura used to provide the wardrobe for Mary Hart from ET, and Ashleigh Banfield of MSNBC.

Laura began her career working as a suit and dress designer in NYC and quickly developed her own brand, "The Laura Madrigano Collection." Her suits and dresses were sought after for their fit and feminine Dior-like appeal, and worn elegantly by media personalities such as Martha Stewart, Mary Hart, and the Emmy award winning Ashleigh Banfield. Laura also designed the custom wedding dress for Ashleigh Banfield. Laura's one-of-a-kind handbags have been donned by movie stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Goldie Hawn, Jessica Simpson, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lela Roshon, Liv Tyler, and more.

As the brand grew in popularity, Laura soon incorporated handbags into her collection, which were deemed both visionary and vintage. She became a leader in designing and producing the Laura Madrigano handbag collection throughout NYC using local factories and methods that she developed herself. This included a method of hand-cutting patterns, while refraining from the use of costly and bulky dyes. While this perplexed local manufacturers, these new methods gave the bags a unique "structure" and made her collection truly one-of-a-kind. Many have compared it to "couture-like," given its meticulous, handmade craftsmanship that goes into every product she designs.

While many manufacturers transferred their production overseas, Laura has always supported local small businesses in Manhattan and maintained a "made in the USA" commitment. When she first began her manufacturing efforts were cutting-edge, but they soon served as an example for other small manufacturers. Her dedication to local vendors, as well as long time cutters, patternmakers and sewers, remains an integral part of the Laura Madrigano line and continues to increase her reputation and legacy in the fashion industry.

Other innovations that Laura lead was the development of a collection with designer Jennifer Roth, called "Roth & Madge." This was a unique line of tooled-leather vintage handbags that were hand-stoned with Swarovski crystals. "Roth & Madge" were leaders in the concept of custom, one of a kind accessories, and the first to introduce the concept at shows like ENK's famous "Accessory Circuit." These custom handbags were sold at Fred Segal, Intermix, and the leading department stores such as Al Ostura, in Kuwait and Dubai, retailed for $400 to $1500, and were featured in Daily Candy, and Country Home magazine. One night at a NYC restaurant Jennifer was carrying was even caught the eye of Jessica Simpson one night at a NYC restaurant. Jennifer was carrying one of their "Roth and Madge" evening bags, and when Jessica fawned over the bag, Jennifer emptied it out and gave it to the starlet.

After many years, Laura moved her business from NYC to NJ where she now resides with her husband and young son on a 100 year old family farm. Here, Laura's love of design and anything vintage has led to her continued inspiration and development of her collection of unique handbags, one-of-a-kind accessories and vintage recreations. She continues to create a line of seasonal spring handbags, fall handbags, and other custom-designed handbags and accessories.

Laura is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology and The New School for Social Research both in New York City. She holds a Bachelors degree and an Associates degree in Fashion design and Liberal Studies. Laura is a member of the Holistic Moms Network, and Generation Rescue.
